2024 is halfway through, but it is not over yet. That’s why I’ve decided to analyze the hottest colors this year and how we, colorful fashionistas, should respond to them.

First of all, trends change all the time, and the hottest colors are different every year. I remember a few years ago, when I was still a teenager, and my love for colorful fashion was slowly being created, the turquoise was the hottest color of the year. It was not so popular to wear it, because let’s be honest, turquoise is vivid and it requires some bravery to put it on. But oh my, at least every second lady had nails in this color!

This showed me that sadly, some women do not know their style. They are waiting for somebody to TELL THEM which color they should enjoy this season. It is totally okay and normal to search and use some help. But let me tell you, colorful girl, that once you find out what your style is… you are free from trends. You can follow them if you like, but you are not chained to them.

Because you perfectly know what’s the hottest color of your heart 🙂

Where Do the Hottest Colors Appear?

The most trendy colors of the year appear in clothes and interiors, for example. I do not know much about people following trends in interiors since I need to share space with a black and dark red lover, so once we have found our balance we are not going to change colors inside our flat anytime soon 🙂

But let’s focus on colorful clothes! Many different fashion blogs share different information, but after research, I’ve noticed that the general tendency of colors for 2024 was to wear… neutral—butter yellow, peachy shades, soft beige, etc. 

But at the same time practice tells me something else – in many popular clothes stores in the malls, you could see vibrant orange, lime, or lots of hot pink. The echo of Barbie premiere last year I guess 😉

So, as you can probably see, the hottest colors in theory are not necessarily those worn the most often in the season. 

Okay, to be fair, I indeed saw more people wearing safe neutrals than crazy vibrant orange, but for sure you could have bought such shades almost everywhere. So nowadays if a fashion guru screams “Color A is the hottest this season!”, it does not mean everybody will paint their nails like this. Looks like we can decide on what we like on our own 😉

But, just for fun, and if you are searching for some inspiration, I will share with you the hottest shades of 2024 and give tips on how to wear them. 

Soft Peach

Such a sweet, gentle, and neutral color. It is so delicate it can be paired almost with everything. But what can look very effective, is combining it with stronger shades of blue. We will not only make our outfits more vibrant but also expose both of the colors.

Orange and blue are meant for each other because they can be paired based on color blocking, and if you combine opposite shades, you add another layer to your attire – fantastic contrast.

Soft peach is an elegant color, so if you are the type that loves colors, but in moderation, I bet this shade will suit you well 🙂

Hot Orange

This is not the official color on the most trendy shades of the 2024 list, yet since it appeared so often, it deserves to be mentioned. I absolutely LOVE vivid orange, it gives good vibes and makes us look unique.

Hot orange is brave and playful – you can combine it with other equally vibrant shades to create a vivid harmony, or if you want the piece of clothing in this color to be the main star of your outfit, add some neutrals. Maybe soft peach even. 

Cherry Red

Whoever said that red is timeless was right. This classic shade is trendy yet again, and I love it. Some people say red is too aggressive for them, but one has to agree – if you want to look classy and like a star, red is the best choice.

Cherry red is brighter than the trendy color of the previous year – burgundy – so it will look less autumnish and more like summer. And I love shades that make us feel like we’re on vacation all year long!

Citron Zest

This year would be way sadder if yellow was not trendy in it! I would even go further, seems like this year the pattern of lemons is at its finest, becoming more and more popular. 

This is such a joyful trend that I want to help spread – that’s why we made sure the lemon pattern appears everywhere.

Citron Zest is such a grateful shade, it looks fresh and neat with white, but even happier and warmer with green and pink. You can play around with it and combine it with neutrals to create an elegant look with a playful twist.

The only color that’s risky to combine with yellow is… black. It all depends on shades and patterns, but if you go for example with stripes, you can look like a bee. But hey, bees are very fashionable animals! So bee a bee if you wish 😉

Lilac

Ah, what would be colorful fashion without our royal purple? I’m so glad Liliac is getting the attention it deserves this year. 

It is gentle and sweet, yet also playful. Can be paired with neutrals for a calm, girly look, or with for example vivid yellow for a more original outfit.

Lilac and lemon zest create a happy marriage, so if you want to get over the board and wear two hottest colors at once, you can try this interesting combo.

Trendy Hottest Colors for Next Year

So these were the most popular trendy colors for this year. Now you know what to wear to claim the fashion icon crown this season 😉

When it comes to predictions for next year, I’ve heard some gossip that gold will come back to grace. I’m not surprised since it is a timeless color, just like red.

Some bloggers also think light blue will be trendy. If that’s true, maybe more cool shades will be hot next season. Who knows for sure, we will know it in a few months.

For now, I’m leaving you with fresh ideas on how to incorporate the trendy colors of 2024 into your daily style. But remember – use them only if you like them. Because the most timeless trendy color is always the true color of your soul. So wear it proudly.
